Golf Tournament

September 26, 2022

Pete Dye Golf Club | Bridgeport, WV

United Hospital Center and United Health Foundation’s 3rd annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament raised more than $170,000 for a new state-of-the-art Women’s Health Center and WVU School of Nursing expansion. The sold-out tournament drew 96 amateur golfers and 24 pro golfers from throughout the region. A group of golfers representing Dr. Marc Costa’s office won the scramble, and Bob Sowards from Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club in Powell, Ohio, took home $4,000 and the trophy for the Pros. Thank you to our title sponsor BlaineTurner Advertising and many others for their generosity.

The Women’s Health Center will provide an exceptional, calming environment for the women of our community to gather, receive first-class healthcare, and experience pivotal moments all under one roof. A place where women can receive the care they deserve for themselves and where physicians and healthcare providers can collaborate, communicate, and build a community around the needs of the extraordinary women in our lives.

United Hospital Center and the WVU School of Nursing have partnered to train future nurses. This new campus will place UHC at the forefront of addressing the nursing shortage, enable more aspiring nurses to pursue their degree, and provide accessibility to nursing students in our region. Your investment is another way that together we can provide quality healthcare to North Central West Virginia.

"The course was excellent, and the event was even better than last year. I really enjoyed watching our Pro play so well.  This tournament is without a doubt the best run charity event I have played in."
